Hot sale: context and learnings

Many already know what Hot Sale is, and many will have even taken advantage of more than one offer. In the most recent edition, held from May 15th to 23rd, more than 600 brands, retailers, and marketplaces participated, such as Adidas, Amazon, Miniso, MercadoLibre, among many others. But even so, it's worth explaining what it consists of.
Hot Sale emerged in Latin America, inspired by Cyber Monday and Black Friday, two events that promote online and in-person sales in the United States. This initiative aims to promote e-commerce through discounts and offers on a wide variety of products and services.
The first Hot Sale in Mexico was held in 2014, organized by the Mexican Online Sales Association (AMVO) with the goal of boosting online sales in the country. Since its first edition until today, its popularity and the number of participating brands have only grown; even the number of days the event lasts has increased.
Opportunities for startups
Although it might seem like only large companies benefit this season, startups can also join in and take advantage of the opportunity to grow and become known. Participating in an event like this can expose you to an audience you wouldn't normally reach. Additionally, during this season, people are more willing to buy due to the volume of offers they typically see, which can boost your sales.
